Dr.Lisa Koenig

Dr. Lisa L. Koenig is a board-certified and licensed chiropractor and is certified by the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK) as an applied kinesiologist with over twenty years of experience working in health and wellness. She has completed over 900 hours of study in applied kinesiology post-certification, and was an ICAK teaching assistant for five years, helping train doctors and students.

Dr. Koenig uses a whole-body approach to treatment, looking for the root cause of the problem rather than simply treating the superficial symptoms presented. With her breadth of knowledge and experience, she has successfully promoted healing for a wide array of clients, addressing varied and often complicated health issues. She integrates complementary healing modalities into her practice including nutrition, massage, Sacro-Occipital Technique, Neuro-Emotional Technique, and Total Body Modification. . Dr. Koenig works with people suffering from emotional trauma and physical violence, sciatica, vertigo/dizziness, migraines, autoimmune and Lyme diseases, as well as less severe physical ailments and mental and emotional challenges. She specializes in treating infertility, having helped almost eighty patients fulfill their dream of parenthood, and has a strong neonatal practice. Her client population ranges in age from newborn to the elderly—addressing conditions such as GERD, torticollis, and latching.

Dr. Koenig has over twelve years of experience as a certified veterinary chiropractor and currently provides her healing services at Holistic Veterinary Care in Oakland. She primarily treats cats and dogs, but has also worked with horses and rabbits and has even treated a rooster! Dr. Koenig’s animal care addresses issues ranging from pain caused by injury or arthritis to internal medical conditions such as urinary/fecal incontinence, constipation, chronic ear problems, seizures, and behavioral disorders related to pain, among others. She utilizes herbal supplements along with nutrition to help treat each animal’s situation.

Dr. Koenig grew up in Dix Hills, New York, and has always been passionate about helping others. After a successful career as an accountant, she became a chiropractor upon seeing her mother return to a pain-free life through chiropractic treatments of her severe disc issues. She loves the process of discovering the best path to well being for each of her clients, as well as instilling in them a deeper body awareness so that they have the tools to help themselves thrive.
